Ted has lived most of his life in South Carolina. He graduated from Clemson University, with highest honors, and the University of South Carolina school of law, cum laude. Upon graduation, Ted worked for several years in the taxation department of a national accounting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1982, Ted moved to Anderson, South Carolina, where he began practicing law with the predecessor firm that became the Jones Law Firm, PA.

Ted is a certified specialist in tax law and a certified public accountant. He has a broad background in business organization and planning, in taxation, and in estate and trust planning including associated income and estate tax minimization. Since 1980, he has been involved in the formation, acquisition, operation and liquidation of various types of business entities. During the lifecycle of these entities, he has been involved in all required documentation, planning to minimize taxes, setting up 401(k) and other qualified retirement plans, and assistance with the documentation of the entity structure. Ted assists his clients with the planning and drafting of wills and trusts. He has worked on the administration of a myriad of estates and trusts over a period of more than 30 years, from small to very large, many with very complicated tax and administration issues.

Ted and his wife of 30 plus years, Michelle, have two grown children. In the community, Ted is involved at Capstone Church, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Foothills Community Foundation and Tri-County Technical Foundation, as well as several other small nonprofit organizations.
